Icewhitediamond.com is proud to offer its customers a wide selection of Canadian Diamonds mined in the Northwest Territories. Our selection of diamonds is carefully tracked from the mine through the processes of cutting, polishing and transportation. This ensures that our Canadian diamonds undergo a continuous chain of custody, and our supply is not corrupted by illegitimate or conflict diamonds.
Canada has strict environmental laws with respect to diamond mining which are among the most rigorous in the world. These standards aid in the protection of wildlife, water and fish habitats.
Canadian diamond stakeholders are dedicated to ensuring that diamonds represented as Canadian can be authenticated to protect themselves against deceptive practices that may erode consumer confidence.
All of our Canadian diamonds will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. As well, a number will be placed on the girdle of the diamond via laser which will correspond with the Certificate Number. Icewhitediamond.com is a voluntary member of the Canadian Diamond Code of Conduct which provides for the independent validation of Canadian Diamonds. All of our Canadian diamonds have certification policies that are compliant with the Code in order to give you the peace of mind to know your diamond is conflict free.
The future of Canadian Diamonds
It is anticipated that once Northwest Territories mines reach full production, they will produce from 12% to 15% of the world's diamonds by value — making Canada the third-largest producer of diamonds, ahead of South Africa. Given this significant supply of diamonds, greater development of cutting and polishing factories is expected. Efforts are under way to encourage a jewellery-making industry, combining high-quality GOVERNMENT CERTIFIED CANADIAN DIAMOND™ with traditional northern jewellery designs.*
